Personality
- “Hey! I found a hamlogna sandwich! Will this help?”
- — Zaptor, Changing a Lightbulb
Zaptor is a quirky Electroid and is described as an "adrenaline junkie", enjoying joke-telling, displaying a care for the environment and appears to be obsessed with Hamlogna Sandwiches to the point it can distract him.[9][2] On this note, he tends to focus on singular matters, often ignoring the consequences of his actions while problem-solving.[3] Like other Electroids, he appears to be very energetic, displaying huge excitement in certain scenarios.[2]
Powers and abilities
Zaptor releasing gathered electricity.
Like other members of his tribe, Zaptor is capable of storing large sums of electricity, capable of discharging it at will through his lightning rod head.[9] His lightning rod head can also be used as a source of light, and is partially flexible.[7]
In Calling All Mixels, Zaptor is depicted with the following abilities:
Blinding Flash: Zaptor emits a beam of electricity, stunning all enemies within range.
Dance Party: Zaptor throws out a disco ball to distract Nixels and prevent them from attacking for a short time.
Overcharge: Zaptor charges an enemy with a large amount of powerful electricity that can even damage other Nixels in range.
Biography
Early life
Little is known about Zaptor's early life. However, he managed to gain a taste for hamlogna sandwiches, loving them enough to make them his favorite food.
Adventures
During a Mix Festival, he managed to get kidnapped by the Nixels, and had to be rescued to help rescue the other Mixels.[10]
Making a getaway.
While enjoying Cookironis with other Mixels, he ended up fighting for the last one. When Vulk ended up with it, he zapped him into a rock to retrieve it, though ended up scared off when the Cragsters ended up Maxing and chased him. Teslo and Volectro ended up coming to his rescue and the three of them Maxed as well. When the Infernites Max was formed, all three of them fought for the Cookironi, but it ended up destroyed. However, when they saw a Nixel with a box, they all gave chase.[1]
Due to a miscommunication, Seismo and Shuff thought that Zaptor and the other Electroids were planning to sacrifice Krader, while in reality, they were doing a ritual for a dance party. The Cragsters joined in on the party, and both tribes Maxed to compete in a dance contest.[4]
Zaptor and the offending pothole.
While out with Vulk, Zaptor fell into a pothole, taking great offense and considering it a serious safety hazard to the surrounding landscape. The two Mixed to fix the pothole, destroying their surroundings in the process.[3]
A Nixel managed to steal a Cubit, being followed by a Mix of Zaptor and Seismo, who zapped Major Nixel for the attempted theft.[11]
When Teslo was teaching him and Volectro on how many Electroids it takes to change a light bulb, the single light bulb keeping the room illuminated broke. Despite being scared at first, he helped look for a light bulb, though only found a hamlogna sandwich, and asks if it will help. Eventually, he Maxed with the other two, charging a light bulb with enough power to shatter the Lightbulb sun.[7]
Zaptor found himself up against a swarm of Nixels alongside Teslo and Volectro, Maxing with the two to fend them off.[12]
Later, he somehow managed to replace one of Shuff's Cubits with a Hamlogna Sandwich.[13]
While at the Hamlogna Conveyor Belt, Zaptor grew impatient with the speed the sandwiches were coming out, so he cranked the speed up, unaware that Lunk and Tentro were now struggling to make them. Eventually, they Mixed and provided a huge pile of sandwiches, which Zaptor was ready to eat, only for Jawg to get to them first.[2]
He was an invitee to Balk's birthday party.[14]

During the annual Mix Festival, he stood by a table with the festival's supply of Hamlogna Sandwiches. While the Flain & Teslo Mix commented on his sandwich eating skills, he denied that he was eating any, while very slowly devouring one. Eventually, he gave into his cravings and ate all of the sandwiches, which angered Teslo and Volectro. As the tribal leaders set out on a sandwich run, Zaptor was Nixed by the Mega Nixel Mixel Nixer, but was later returned to normal when the leaders saved the festival.[15]
During a picnic with Flain, Lunk, and Chomly in Mixel Park, Zaptor expressed his love for the quietness of the park, only for the four of them to be interrupted by the Wiztastics promoting their show, though none of them were impressed by it.[5]
Zaptor became one of the many "chosen ones".
Zaptor was one of many Mixels who were forced to outrun the Nixelstorm and help shut it down.[16]
Zaptor, at some point, received a Mixamajig Key and was one of almost all of the Mixels who searched and fought for the Mixamajig, and then captured by King Nixel. He Maxed with his branch of the Electroids in order to defeat him, and Mixopolis was revealed by the Weldos soon after.[8]

Behind the scenes
Early development
Preliminary packaging of Zaptor, featuring early artwork.
Zaptor was created for the first series of Mixels sets, being designed by Andy Seenan, who remarked that his appearance in the show "gave him the best voice".[17] Zaptor's early artwork featured him with almost entirely one shade of yellow. Zaptor's tongue's color is depicted interchangably as yellow-orange or grey, indicating changes during development.[18][19]
In certain media, his name is used for Teslo and vice versa, potentially indicating that the characters had swapped names during development.[2][20]
Reveals
Zaptor, along with the rest of Series 1, on display at Nuremberg Toy Fair.
On December 23, 2013, Zaptor first appeared with the rest of Series 1 in a German retailer's catalog.[21][22] Zaptor appeared with the rest of Series 1 through 3 at London, Nuremberg, and New York Toy Fairs in late January and early February 2014.[23][24][25]
Name and basis
Zaptor's name is a pun on the onomatopoeic word, "zap".
Voice
In the TV series, and where sound clips are used, Zaptor's voice is provided by Jess Harnell. He has a vague Austrian accent when he speaks.
Content
Zaptor debuted in the TV series on February 12, 2014 in Cookironi, while his LEGO set officially became available on March 1 with the rest of Series 1.
Zaptor also appears in the mobile app game Calling All Mixels, released on March 4, 2014 for iOS and April 2, 2014 for Android. He then went on to appear in Mixels Rush, released on May 21, 2015.
Zaptor appears in the Mixels: 2015 Wall Calendar, representing January.
